It is the time when many of those who have gone away on vacation return. Few travelers, however, make as many kilometers as the dark pardela. Researchers have found that the migration of this marine bird is representative in the record book: 64.000 kilometers in 200 days, more than any other migratory animal.

The researchers analyze for the first time the migration of the dark pardela. To do this, instead of using conventional tools, a species of fish has been used, since it is lighter and allows the tracking by geolocation. In addition, as you receive the data, you save them in memory. With this they have been able to find out where the birds were and where exactly they were going, how much they dipped into the sea to get food and what temperature the surface water had. For example, in the upper image appears the path traveled.

In recent times there is less and less dark brown and the data collected will be very useful to know why this loss is occurring.
