Researchers at Tübingen University in Germany have collected images showing the fluorescence of red light of some fish. A minimum of 5 families and 32 fish species of 16 genera have been identified. This shows that the fluorescence of red light is also common in marine fish.

These fish have their own red light, they do not receive it from the surface. In fact, the sea water absorbs the red color of the sun's rays, so it is not able to reach a depth greater than 10 meters.

Researchers believe that the fluorescence of red light can contribute to the communication of fish or the attraction of other fish.
