Acupuncture in the United States

Acupuncture treatments are increasingly recognized in the American medical model. A recent commission from the National Institute of Health has noted that acupuncture may be a very useful therapy to treat certain health problems. They say it is a very useful tool to relieve toothache, nausea during pregnancy and chemotherapy treatments. Addiction, headache, spills, and asthma are also considered to be treated with acupuncture.

However, shadows have also been suspected in this treatment, as it has been recognized that it is necessary to study better how acupuncture more specifically affects the body. However, it has been found that this technique increases endogenous opioid levels, which are the body's natural analgesics. In addition, American scientists have stated that acupuncture stimulates the hypothalamus and pituitary, alters the level of neurotransmitters and influences blood circulation.

Immediately the voices opposed to these statements have been heard, and given the lack of sufficient studies in this regard, it has been reported that these statements have no scientific basis.
