Writer Bill Bryson has been this year's winner of the Aventis Prize, the most important award that promotes books of scientific outreach. Under the title A Short Story of Nearly Everything, this book collects, from the Big Bang hypothesis, the most important topics of science. In the youth books section the winners were Nick Arnold and Tony De Saulles. The award went to Really Rotten Experiments. The book is a compilation of many experiments that young people can do at home.
