According to an article published in the Journal of Dental Research, the health status of milk teeth is directly related to that of definitive teeth. To reach this conclusion, researchers have studied 362 Chinese children in 8 years and have clearly shown that those who have cavities in the milk teeth continue to have a tendency to cavities. In fact, 85% of those who had decay in the milk teeth had the same problem in the final teeth. On the contrary, 83% of healthy milk dentures remained without cavities until age 12.

Bear in mind that caries is very common in childhood. For example, in the US, 18% of children aged 2 to 4 years, 52% of children aged 6 to 8 years, and 80% of children aged 17 years have at least one damaged tooth. Therefore, seeing that the health of the milk teeth is related to definitive teething, it is best to take care of them from young.
