Air pollution causes respiratory tract diseases, killing 1,500,000 people every year in Asia.

Air pollution causes the death of one and a half million people in Asia, mostly inhabitants of cities or surroundings, according to the World Health Organization. The authors of the report, presented at their headquarters in Manila, point out that respiratory diseases caused by pollution can become one of the main problems of the inhabitants of Asian cities. Cities have grown at full speed to meet economic, service and infrastructure needs. This strong growth has caused, among other things, violence, environmental degradation and poverty.

Air pollution has also been significantly affected, and according to WHO, most people in Asian cities breathe in excess sulfur dioxide. In this situation, the people most affected are the most modest and poor, since it is not easy for them to access the health conditions and adequate housing and other basic services.
