The Pacific full of plastics

Researchers have found that in some areas of the Pacific Ocean there is six times more plastic than zooplankton.

Plastic is a serious problem for the environment. In fact, it floats near the surface and many fish and birds eat as food. It is not able to metabolize plastic and accumulates in the stomach of many animals. In addition, some plastics contain toxic compounds such as PCBs.
