After reviewing the data collected by the Cassini probe, they suggest that the Mimas moon may have an ocean under the skin. A few years ago, another moon by Saturn, Encinado, figured out that in the subglacial layer it has a liquid ocean. In fact, observations have shown that it emits ice jets and gas, and the rest of the data coincide with this hypothesis. Mimas, however, does not jet and has craters on the skin (i.e. the skin does not renew). But astrophysicists have announced that Mimas' orbit and rotation data suggest that this satellite also has an ocean.

The study has been published in the journal Nature. According to his simulations, it emerged between 25 and 2 million years ago and is under an ice sheet of 20-30 km thick. They have also noted that the boundary between the ocean and ice was relatively recent: Less than 2-3 million years. Therefore, you have not had time to change your skin.

Jupiter also has under a layer of ice so-called ocean freezes sateliteak.Ilargi, which are especially interesting for astrophysicists, who have indications that they can be stimulating.
