Dutch scientists discover new data on the functioning of chameleon language. They knew beforehand that their front muscles speed up when throwing their tongue, but this is not enough to explain the speed they get. The chameleon moves the tongue five times faster than the fighter plane when it is catching an insect.

Scientists have found that muscle is layered and chameleon accelerates the tongue with protein fibers that stretch and contract.
