The Bilbao doctor José Mari Gómez graduated in Medicine from the University of Salamanca in 1970. The specialty of Gynecology and assisted reproduction training was specially carried out at the Dexeus Institute in Barcelona.

He participated in the creation of the assisted reproduction unit of the Dexeus Institute, where he worked for four years. He was Medical Director of the Alto Deba Hospital and Head of Gynecology for the next four years. Founder of the Gynaecological Office of Gipuzkoa, he is director of the assisted reproduction unit of the Gynaecological Office of Polyclinic Gipuzkoa since the 80s.
