Thanks to this beautiful photograph, the Hungarian Bence Máté is named Best Wildlife Photographer. The jury has appreciated that this is the most striking and memorable photo of all those who have competed. His work has been praised for being “master of photography with the eyes of an artist”.

Máté has photographed in Costa Rica at night, placing a flash on the back of a leaf possibility to see a group of ants cutting and transporting leaves. The author states that the ant has proven that they are “wonderful subjects”.

The event is organized by BBC Wildlife Magazine and the Natural History Museum of London.
