Reservoir in most large rivers

2005/07/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria

Analyzing 292 river systems worldwide, in most cases, in 172, Swedish researchers have discovered that there is at least one reservoir. In Europe, for example, 60% of the rivers have suffered variations in their flow due to reservoirs and other constructions. On the contrary, in Australia, New Zealand and its adjacent islands the proportion is very low
and only 17% of the rivers have reservoirs.
