A team of researchers from the Thermal Engineering of the Public University of Navarra is designing a thermoelectric refrigerator for the company BSH Siemens. The cooling system used by conventional refrigerators, steam compression, will be replaced by thermoelectricity. In this way, it is intended to produce smaller, silent and environmentally friendly refrigerators. But not everything is so beautiful: for now this type of refrigerators will consume more electricity than conventional ones.
