Will I have any intestinal disease?

The biotechnology company Progenika de Zamudio has presented a new dna-chip for patients suffering from intestinal inflammation. The most important diseases that cause intestinal inflammation are Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. The new biochip analyzes 46 mutations related to these diseases and will soon enter the validation phase.
The chip analyzes many polymorphisms and determines the risk of disease, the prognosis of the disease, and the patient's response to treatment.
From a practical point of view, IBDtxip would have two main clinical uses: on the one hand, it would provide information on the choice of the most appropriate therapy for each patient and, on the other, it would allow the patient's relatives to know the possibility of developing the disease. In addition, if new mutations are identified, they can also be included in the IBDtxip for analysis.
