2002/02/06 Elhuyar Zientzia

More than a year later, NASA launched the HESSI satellite yesterday. HESSI will record videos of solar eruptions for the first time. Thanks to special video cameras, the satellite can make X-ray colour videos.

NASA wanted to space the satellite 18 months ago to the maximum of the 11-year cycle of solar activity, but due to technical problems, until yesterday it could not be launched. However, scientists are satisfied because the sun is still in a highly active situation. This will also record the most violent solar eruptions.

The HESSI mission will last for two years and it is estimated that it will eruptions.
