Polar bear and hippopotamus, in danger of extinction
01/06/2006 | Elhuyar

The polar bear and hippopotamus have been included in the list of endangered species. Climate change is causing polar ice to melt, which is deteriorating the polar bear habitat. On the other hand, in some African states, due to political instability, the uncontrolled hunting of hippo has increased. In Congo, for example, 95% of hippos have disappeared in a decade. According to the 2006 list, 16.119 species are endangered.
