Breast cancer is not a single disease, but ten diseases, according to an international group coordinated by researchers at the Cambridge Research Institute. Hospitals in the UK and Canada have genetically analyzed samples of 2,000 women who had frozen and found ten types of breast cancer. It is now common to classify cases based on the appearance of tumors under a microscope, but treatment is not always effective. According to Cambridge researchers, this new classification will allow the search for ten specific treatments and the recovery of breast cancers more successfully.
