In electronic transactions, the Data Encryption Standard (DES) encryption system is used to preserve data security. But this system was created in the 1970s and is already obsolete by today's powerful computers. That is why U. S. The National Institute for Standars and Technology has organized a tournament to discover a new system that will be useful in the coming years. In the first round, 15 candidates suffered the test of the strongest in the world and five have passed to the second round. Among them is the so-called Serpent, designed to offer total security and ensure data security throughout the century.
