Since 1972, the United Nations has celebrated World Environment Day on June 5. For that day, they choose a theme related to the environment and name a city for the main celebration. This year is the thaw of the poles, which will be held in the Norwegian city of Tromso (talks, concerts, cycling marches, tree plantations, etc.) Why this theme and this city? The issue has a lot to do with climate change. In short, if the planet is heated it is possible that polar ice melts, which would mean serious environmental consequences. It is not clear whether the ice of the pole melts and, if it occurs, how long it will take to do so. However, experts from all over the world agree, it is worth analyzing the topic. Specifically, the United Nations has chosen the city of Tromso, in which this problem is experienced closely. There is the closest university to the ice that can be melted.
