Instead of the sun, tori hormone!

In Australia, the main health problem is skin cancer. In fact, 80% of the new cancer cases that appear in this country are skin cancers. On the one hand, it is no wonder that, except for the aborigines, most of its inhabitants have a white skin and the weather is very sunny.

Aware of the seriousness of the problem, Australians have stopped sunbathing. But that also has its negative part: the sun contributes to the production of vitamin D, and since the sun is insufficient, it was recently known that many Australians lack vitamin D.

Now, at the University of Monash in Australia, a circular solution has been found. Although still under investigation, researchers at this university have presented a product that increases melanin production. The product name is in Melano, although it is also known as ‘Barbie drug’. Melano is a natural hormone that, based on the same mechanism of natural production of melatonin, promotes the production of superficial melatonin pigment. Thanks to this, the skin is tanned.

According to the authors, it is not about favoring aesthetics, because yes, health. Melatonin protects from sunlight. In addition, the consumption of a single dose per year will be enough to detect its beneficial effect, and less bad, it will not be very cheap. In any case, you should wait at least until 2005 to be able to buy in the market.
