Diamond: treasure for British researchers

Diamond is already ready to work, a third generation synchrotron or a particle accelerator. Located in Oxford, it is, according to experts, the largest technological resource built in Britain in the last 30 years.
The accelerator will make available to researchers monochromatic light rays. At the moment there are seven zones of rays, but they will continue in construction and it is expected that for 2011 another fifteen will be built. This will represent an important budget increase (to date three hundred and sixty-five million euros have been spent), which will entail an additional disbursement of one hundred and seventy-five million euros.
The first researchers of the accelerator begin to reach Diamond. Therefore, if there are no problems, it will soon be underway.
