The van you have in the pictures is special. It has been made by the Ford house and has on the roof some solar panels of 1.2 m2. These panels are capable of producing 130 Watios in solar boilers and 80 Watios in shade.
The energy generated by these solar panels is stored in two large batteries and in the battery of the van. These batteries can store at once 280 Amperes/hours for use in darkness.
An alternator transforms the DC into alternating current, allowing the van to provide conventional household electrical appliances. For example, a rock band can stay on the edge of the road and while the champagne cools in the fridge you can play an impromptu concert.
This van, however, is still in the testing phase.
