ADE Biotec wants to launch its waste treatment plants in Gipuzkoa, Basque Country and other autonomous communities. He recently installed the first industrial purine purification plant in a txerritegi in Errenteria (Egiluze).

The liquid mixture of purines, manure and wastewater is one of the main problems of today's livestock, both from the environmental and economic point of view. Excessive use involves significant contamination of the surrounding surface as well as groundwater, and purine management requires time and abundant labor.

At the base of this problem is the intensification of agriculture: livestock farms have more and more heads. As a result, there are more and more waste, but the surface required for its correct use as fertilizer does not increase.

The new purine purification technology is based on electroflotation and consists of the passage of purines between iron plates, moving from one plate to another low voltage electrical current. Thus two main phenomena occur due to electricity.

When passing between iron plates the foam is formed.

On the one hand, iron platelet dissolves iron (Fe2+), so the organic matter contained in the purine is coagulated and flocculated. Thus, organic matter takes the form of a set of balls easily separable from water, forming hydrogen bubbles that float and are easily removed. Thus, more than 80% of the amount of oxygen, phosphorus and nitrogen consumed by the components that are oxidized in the water is removed from purine.

This technology has other advantages such as low cost, no chemical reagents, no scale limitation and easy automation.
