Shoes are also recyclable

Recycling is an emerging issue in our society. Every day more products become recyclable. If on the one hand it is a way to overcome the problem of waste, on the other hand we must not forget that it is a marketing resource.

The case we will present here is that of Nike Inc, one of the most important companies in the footwear sector. The aim of this company is to recycle shoe floors used to achieve new footwear pavements. Production begins next year.

Nike claims that for more than a year they have been conducting intensive laboratory research. As a result of these studies, the recycled shoe flooring obtained presents a elasticity and resistance similar to the standard shoe.

What is, ultimately, what is recycled?

The rubber is taken from the floor of the old shoe and mixed with the new rubber to obtain a new pavement.

This decision made by Nike is due to its respect for the environment. Although there are people who think there are reasons for in-depth marketing, it is true that it is one more way to deal with the waste problem.

So if in your village you see a container that puts "old sports shoes" you are not surprised.
