Sperm from the mouse

2002/07/11 Elhuyar Zientzia

Harry Moore, an English biologist, has made a curious discovery: the sperm of the mouse join to advance in the female vagina. They form a group that can move quickly twisting the tails. Moore has made observations with the sperm of basasagua (Apodemus sylvaticus) and the results have been published in the journal Nature.

This grouping occurs a couple of minutes after ejaculation and is undone 20 minutes to be able to fertilize the eggs. Moore believes that something similar to human sperm can happen, at least in invertebrates it is evident.
