Ecological corridor in Central America

8 Central American states have recently presented the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. With this project, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama want to protect an extensive hunting area. In addition to preserving indigenous forests, rivers, wetlands and seas, the aim is to ensure sustainable exploitation of these resources. In addition to protecting biodiversity, mechanisms will be put in place to combat poverty in these regions. At the same time, they point out that in the territories that have remained outside the corridor, sustainable development will also be promoted.
