The wolf is a mammal of the Caucasian family. Most live in North America, East Europe and Asia.

The wolf is shaped like a big dog, but has a wider head and the tail is almost always low. She normally lives in a group and catches large animals, but sometimes lives alone and feeds on smaller animals.

It has a length of between 100 and 140 cm and a weight between 30 and 75 kilos. The life of the wolf is 8-16 years, although in captivity can last up to 20 years.

They once lived throughout the Basque Country, but today only a few specimens can be seen in the western mountains of Álava and Bizkaia.
