New generation of membranes

In the New Materials Department of CIDETEC membranes based on conductive polymers have been made. In this project we wanted to combine the characteristics of conventional electrodialysis membranes and conductive polymers. Conventional membranes are very suitable for continuous distribution, are easily combined with other distribution processes, consume little energy and do not need additives.

Conventional membranes based on ion exchange, on the contrary, are inadaptable, which is one of its main drawbacks. The sum of the properties of both will allow to meet increasingly specific demands of the industry, especially in those sectors that work in the treatment of surfaces (automotive, printing, etc. ).
