The debate on the amount of vitamin C remains open: Should we take more than the body needs or can harm us? So far scientists have not been able to agree. It is recommended to take 60 milligrams per day, but it is recommended that you increase this dose 10 times. Nobel laureate Linus Pauling, for example, recommends that the daily dose of 60 milligrams be increased 300 times.
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has published the results of the latest research on this debate. It seems that the human body does not have the ability to properly synthesize or accumulate vitamin C that is given to it in an exaggerated way.
Consequently, the authors of this article state that megadoses of vitamin C have no influence, since the vitamin that the body does not provide is removed by urine.
