Mars, water and NASA form an inseparable trio in recent years. NASA has repeatedly announced that it has found water on Mars once again last week.
On the website of the journal Science it is indicated that in the south pole of Mars ice has been detected that until now had not been detected. NASA researchers, after a photograph taken in February by the ship Mars Odissey, drew the attention of a piece of land that, after analyzing more carefully the infrared camera of the ship, has discovered that this space absorbs and emits more heat than the others. According to this, it is very possible that there is icy water there. In the image, the area is marked with the red arrow, a very weak white part.
The other area visible in white is not frozen water, but frozen carbon dioxide, the main component of the Martian poles. Some scientists believe that in summer, when it melts, it uncovers the icy water below. This photo shows water in a very small field, but according to these scientists it is very possible that under the frozen carbon dioxide there are larger areas with water.
