The image is a fluorescent shark, a special species of cats: Scyliorhinus retifer. NOAA researchers have taken this image on a mission to better understand the seabed, Operation Deep Scope 2005.

In the framework of this research, tucked into a diving boat, they explore the background and film with cameras the discovered. Objective: to find species with fluorescence. Well in one of those dives, what will we find, a fluorescent cat! It is a kind of cat that was previously known, but had never been filmed as such.
