Shorter laser pulse!

2005/04/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria

Physicists are getting pulse lasers shorter and shorter so far at Stanford University: The pulse lasts only 1.6 femtoseconds, i.e. 1.6 x 10-15 seconds.

In short, to get this laser beam short pulse have passed two laser beams through a deuterine cell and, after playing with some prisms and modulators, have passed the rays through a xenon cell.
