The biometric systems used for identification are based on certain morphological elements characteristic of each person. For example, iris or fingerprint characteristics can be studied.

So far, most of us have been able to see such advances only in movies. From October it will be enough to approach London. In fact, a passenger identification system through the iris will be launched at Heathrow Airport.

The steps of this system are relatively simple. First, a camera collects the image of the iris and analyzes its morphological characteristics. The following compares the information obtained with the database previously obtained and identifies the traveler. Finally, this data is sent to airport and airline computers.

Who knows! If the London pilot program progresses, it is possible that soon enough to make a gesture to the camera instead of showing the passport.
