Eleven billion dollars will serve to make dams in the Narmada River and its tributaries. This 1,300km long river aims to build one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the world. A total of 30 giant dams, 135 medium dams and 3,000 small dams will be built.

The works have already begun and have to displace more than 200,000 inhabitants of the 245 municipalities near the river. For the popular movement “Save the Army” is “the greatest disaster ever committed by man.” Designers claim it is the only way to have water.
