Fewer birds due to agriculture
Fewer birds due to agriculture
Modern agriculture has reduced the most common bird species in Europe by a third. Ornithologists have analyzed 24 species of birds and claim that the most drastic decline has occurred in areas of very intensive agriculture, in northwest Europe. They therefore call for agriculture to act with respect for the environment to prevent the permanent loss of bird species.
