Measure gravity with a pumped atom

University of Virginia physicists have been able to accurately measure gravity using rubidium-87 atoms and laser rays. They have measured gravity by analyzing how atoms placed in a vacuum chamber and at the temperature of kelvin microdegrees fall on laser rays. In fact, under these conditions only gravity can cause atoms to move. The laser rays measured the force needed to balance the force of gravity and therefore the concrete effect of gravity force. The figure obtained coincided with the expected value: It measures 9,814 m/s2.
