The "club of the rich," so have neurologists from the University of Indiana and the Institute of Neuroscience of Utrecht, to brain areas with many connections between neurons. These areas have also been compared to the G8 group, as they have a disproportionate influence on the functioning of the brain.

In fact, researchers have analyzed the brains of 21 healthy men and women and represented the connections between neurons. Thus, it has been proven that in twelve areas there are many more connections than in other areas. These spaces are associated with complex behaviors and cognitive activities, not specialized processes such as vision or motor control. And if damage occurs in these areas, the consequences are very serious, much greater than if the damage occurs outside them.

This research is part of a larger project. The project, called human connectome, aims to complete the map of connections between neurons.
