Although it seems incredible to some, these dunes are not from Earth, but from Mars. The image was taken by NASA's Opportunity vehicle, which circulated through the Endurance crater. The landscape appears with real colors and the height of the bands is less than one meter.

Scientists intend to send the vehicle to these dunes.
