A group of European astronomers have discovered the smallest planet that revolves around a star different from the Sun. This exoplanet orbits around the mu Arae star in the constellation of Altar and takes nine and a half days to form an orbit.

The mass of the Exoplanet is similar to that of Uranus (14 times greater than that of the Earth), the smallest gas planet in the Solar System, but this exoplanet does not resemble Uranus and seems to be like the Earth. Therefore, astronomers intend to study the exoplanet in depth.
