Snow footprints

2001/02/21 Elhuyar Zientzia

When walking in the snow, the boots or shoes tread the snow layer leaving a few footsteps to the height of the owner's foot. If the snow layer is large, the feet do not fully cross the snow and do not reach the ground. After the 1996 storm, in the Washington-Baltimore area of the United States, the land was covered by a layer of snow of more than half a meter, which melted in two weeks. However, the snow underlying the boots, more compact, takes longer to melt and thus the image was achieved. Therefore, even if it seems incredible, even when the snow has disappeared, sometimes we can chase someone following the footsteps we leave.
