Shara desert dust and ocean wave foam salt can increase US pollution. Faced with this situation, scientists analyzing the environment have stated that US pollution rules must be modified.
The American Lung Association launched a legal action against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The court has reasoned the plaintiff and the new rules required from June 1997 should be implemented.
Among the most controversial changes is the reduction of PM2.5 emissions. Epidemiological studies have explained that these types of particles increase the risk of developing lung cancer and heart disease. However, some scientists distrust the application of the new rules, as they believe that if the rule is too harsh industries will resort to courts and easily replace it.
