A group of paleontologists from the University of Bristol has formed a giant tree that evolutionarily relates 277 species of dinosaurs. Since the 1980s, many similar evolutionary trees have developed, but small groups of species have all been related. Now all these evolutionary trees have joined together forming a tree with 277 species.
More than 1,000 species of dinosaurs are currently identified, so this tree is just a beginning, according to scientists who have participated in the project.
According to them, the supertree is a very suitable starting point to analyze how the evolution of the dinosaurs occurred.
