A study led by the John Hopkins Institute of the United States has shown that to treat amblyopia or ‘vague eye’ in children, atropine drops can be as effective as chat. The drops are expelled in the eye that works well, one a day and cause a provisional blurred vision (atropine is used to treat inflammation of the eyes and dilate the pupils before ophthalmological studies). In children aged 3 to 6 years and when amblyopia is not very hard, the drops can be an optional treatment of the jacket.
