Air pollution, coral loss
2004/10/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria
At the end of this century only half of the existing corals and plankton will remain due to atmospheric carbon dioxide. This will have serious consequences for the rest of marine life.
Researchers have reached this conclusion after ten years of research on 72,000 ocean samples. It has been proven that half of the carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere since the industrial revolution has ended at sea. This is good on the one hand, because the sea has contributed to the mitigation of the greenhouse effect, but on the other hand, it can be really harmful to marine ecosystems.
