24 hours delay in the launch of the new Meteosat

2002/08/28 Galarraga Aiestaran, Ana - Elhuyar Zientzia

Despite the fact that the MSG-1 (first Meteosat satellite of Second Generation) planned to launch it at 00.30 at night, the ESA decided to delay the launch 24 hours. Yesterday they had to stop the countdown because they detected a problem in the communication between the rocket and the control center.

When they solved the problem, the shooting time had already passed and decided to leave it until today. So, if there is no other error, today the satellite will be put in orbit, at the same time and place they announced yesterday: In Kourou, from 19:30 to 20:15, that is, from 00:30 to 01:15.
