Hurricanes 2006 Hurricanes

2006/06/01 Roa Zubia, Guillermo - Elhuyar Zientzia

The forecasts of tropical storms and hurricanes have already been published, which will supposedly take place this year in the Atlantic. The most significant announcement is that of the US agency NOAA. They consider that at least four hurricanes will be violent in 2006. Other forecasts, such as the Colorado State University and the Benfield Hazard Research Centre in London, are similar. The storms are classified according to the wind speed they cause, being called tropical storms, hurricanes and violent hurricanes, to those that present winds of at least 62, 118 and 178 kilometers per hour, respectively. According to this data, this summer there will be more storms than usual, although they do not expect to reach the number of storms in 2005. The calculation has been carried out taking into account the temperature of the ocean water, the force of the wind, etc. But experts are concerned that they are not exact calculations. For example, in May last year, the Atlantic doubled the number of announced storms. In fact, the list of names of hurricanes was short for them. However, this year's list of names is ready and, like every year, they have included twenty-one names:
