To protect wood stems

A Scottish company has devised pole treatments that will save millions of dollars. These treatments allow to extend the life of the stems up to twice.
The electricity and telephone network uses 120 million posts in the United States and 80 million in Europe. The renewal of these stems is an extraordinary disbursement for States, since the placement of a new stem can cost $200.
The Scottish company SIWT Projects Ltd., from Abertay, has proposed another solution to try to solve this problem, that is, to prepare a treatment to extend the service life of the posts. These treatments are the most resistant to the degradation of wood and bacteria, avoiding the use of chemical compounds.
The company SIWT Projects was born from a research institute in wood technology with the aim of offering such methodologies.
