Fire safety in road and railway tunnels is of paramount importance. Tunnel entry and exit difficulties are important. Therefore, in case of fire, it is advisable to detect it immediately and know its immediate location. To do this, the company Cerberus-Guinard has enabled a new detector: Fibrolaser II.

The optical fiber in the entire length of the tunnel runs through a laser beam. When at some point the temperature increases due to fire, the propagation of light in optical fiber changes. Analyzing these changes, the Fibrolaser II detector indicates the location of the fire, calculates the temperature and indicates where it is spreading. In this way, rescue teams can act quickly and appropriately before a warning signal.
