Close to a black hole

Astronomers have never seen black holes, but they know they are in the centers of spiral galaxies and that the surrounding stars "eat" everything they have spilled. An example of this is the one located in the center of the spiral galaxy NGC1097. Now, astronomers at the ESO observatory have taken a photo to the center of this galaxy with more resolution than ever. According to them, there, in the middle of the giant whirlwind, are seen the gas currents that provoke the activity of the black hole.
