For the development of electronics and computer science it will be necessary a good knowledge of each and every one of the characteristics of some materials. For example, the mixture of silicon and silica is the material to be used in the future to transport information.

A group of Canadian researchers have just reached this conclusion after months of thorough study of the properties of both substances. The new material consists of layers of silicon and silica, which are now behind the most effective structure of these layers.

Research, for its part, has aroused great interest in the electronics industry. This is because the use of fiber optics for the transport of information is increasingly important and, consequently, different companies are certainly looking for the most efficient and suitable materials.
